According to Enterprise Minnesota’s eighth annual State of Manufacturing survey, Minnesota manufacturers are (mostly) confident about the future. For the third consecutive year, financial confidence has climbed and currently stands at its highest level yet, with 90% of the 400+ surveyed executives reporting confidence in their firms’ financial futures. Attracting workers remains a challenge, however. Those having difficulty attracting qualified candidates say “applicants do not have the needed skills or education” (52 percent) or they have a “lack of applicants or interest” (42 percent).
To gather results for this survey, Enterprise Minnesota interviewed 400 executives in February and March. They also conducted 19 focus groups of manufacturers throughout the state. To read the full results of their findings, click here.
