The Challenge
When this worldwide chemical company relocated its U.S. finance & accounting functions from New Jersey to Texas, it faced many challenges. Only two of 70 internal employees - fewer than 4 percent - were willing to make the move to Dallas. That meant the company needed to re-staff its entire department with qualified, experienced professionals within four months.
The company also wanted to establish its presence in the new market and position itself as an Employer of Choice in the area. Without a well-known name in the Dallas area, they knew recruiting would be more difficult in such a highly competitive market.
The Action Plan
Pro Staff listened to what the customer needed to accomplish and customized an advertising and sourcing strategy. This included:
-
Networking with established, local media contacts to generate press on behalf of the company
-
Advertising job opportunities through a variety of media outlets
-
Establishing job descriptions as well as department and end user profiles
-
Developing a streamlined hiring process designed for professional level positions
-
Managing all aspects of the hiring process, including: sourcing passive and active job seekers, tracking, reporting, interviewing, screening, verifying, selecting and sending offer letters
-
Coordinating candidate/client interview schedules and video conference options
-
Designing and conducting first day orientation and onboarding process for all employees
The Results
Within four months, 100 percent of the company’s positions were filled. Pro Staff successfully hired and placed 70 directors, managers, accountants, financial analysts and administrative support specialists, all with diverse backgrounds and experience. Pro Staff was able to save the company upwards of 40 percent of its previous outside recruiting costs while meeting all the hiring objectives and timelines.
The company also began to establish itself in the marketplace as a preferred employer through extensive advertising and marketing efforts. The internal hiring processes and recruiting sources developed by Pro Staff continue to be used by the company today.
