380 Person Talent Acquisition Project

The Challenge
A large Houston area company providing real estate property tax services hires 380 temporary employees for a 6 – 8 week period every year.  With the energy business booming in Houston, the competition for qualified talent was particularly tight.  The company struggled for two years in a row to find staffing services that could meet their quality, service and total cost objectives.

The Action Plan
Pro Staff implemented an aggressive recruiting plan targeting qualified customer service and data entry talent.

Activities included:

  • Implement e-marketing and referral campaign generating thousands of qualified responses
  • Advertise job opportunities through a variety of media outlets and onsite job fairs targeting bi-lingual, stay-at-home mothers, retirees, and student candidates
  • Develop a streamlined interviewing, assessment and hiring process designed to screen in the most qualified candidates
  • Manage all aspects of the hiring process, including: sourcing passive and active job seekers, tracking, reporting, interviewing, screening, verifying, selecting and coordinating start dates
  • Design and conduct first day orientation and onboarding process for all project employees
  • Provide daily on-site management of employees

An experienced account management team was positioned onsite to facilitate and monitor the entire process. Results were reviewed with the company’s Senior Management and appropriate departments at scheduled weekly and monthly meetings.

The Results
More than 1000 candidates were interviewed and 98.2% of the positions were filled on time.  The Director of Administrative Operations claimed “last year we had Good to Poor quality employees. This year we had Great, Really Good and Good employees from Pro Staff”.   The results produced by pro Staff far exceeded the customer’s expectations.

In 2008, business doubled in large part due to higher productivity of the project employees. The customer also saw a cost savings of nearly $80,000 over the previous year on temporary staffing services.
