For over a century, March 8 has been designated as International Women’s Day. This is a day to celebrate the social, economic, and cultural achievements of women. This year’s theme is #ChooseToChallenge: a challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change.

Staffmark Group chooses to challenge, and we’re proud to partner with RGF Staffing, our parent company, in this effort. RGF Staffing shared a few ways that they are promoting change in an inspiring article: RGF Staffing is Challenging the Status Quo. This article features Suzanne Perry, our CHRO, and Stacey Lane, our EVP of field operations. We encourage you to read the article to learn more about how our organization advocates for equality. In the article, Stacey also shares a heartfelt message about how her father inspired her views on gender equality:

“It all started with him, raising me as a young lady that could do anything she wanted to. My father was a believer in women’s rights and pushed really hard for women’s equality. That set the groundwork for me.” Stacey says she never experienced being stifled because of her gender. But moving through her career she found out that gender equality doesn’t exist everywhere. “There are a lot of women out there that don’t get the same opportunities that women at, for example, Staffmark Group have. This inequality mandates the latter group to help the first, so those women get the possibilities to thrive as well.”

As a staffing company, it is our job to step up and promote fairness and equality in the workforce. We recently asked our Staffmark Group team members to share their own stories of perseverance, accomplishment, and heroism. We received an overwhelming response–more stories than we could share in just one day. We included a few in the video below, and you can expect to hear more in the weeks and months to come.

I have never worked for a company that supported and encouraged women to be leaders. I decided to go back to school last year and the response I received from co-workers and my boss was so positive. I am inspired by the great women I work with every day.
